[edit] Infoboxe templates
Templates that are frequently used, such as infoboxes, are protected from editing/moving and only administrators can edit/move them. You might notice a red lock in the right top corner or a big message in the middle of the template page. You can leave a message on the talk page if you think the template should be changed.

Templates that are used by a multitude of other templates are protected from editing/moving and only administrators can edit/move them. This is so because modifying this one template has a big influence on other templates and new users might not know which template is used by which other template. You might notice a red lock in the right top corner or a big message in the middle of the page. You can leave a message on the talk page if you think the template should be changed.
[edit] Regular pages
Some regular pages are protected or semi-protected.
- Semi-protected pages: Some pages keep getting modified by anonymous spam robots. These pages are semi-protected and can only be modified by registered users.
- Protected pages: Some important pages, such as tutorials, help articles, policy files etc. are protected and can only be edited/moved by administrators.
